Castleview activities this August

Residents at Castleview based in Alnwick have been very busy this August!

They recently received a visit from local Author Hazel Stephenson, who wrote a series of books entitled ‘Land Girls’. The books allowed residents to reminisce of old times of when notorious ‘Land Girls’ were real - as Hazel said herself, her inspiration for the book series came from stories she had once heard.

As well as a visit from a local author, we’ve also had a very special celebration take place this month! Castleview’s wonderful resident, Kathy, celebrated her 90th birthday on Tuesday 20th August.

The day was made extra special with lots of treats, balloons and of course, cake - enjoyed by all residents.

On Wednesday 21st August, all residents came together to enjoy a day of fun and target games that allowed residents to have friendly competition whilst experiencing new games!

Awarding West Rainton Primary School

The manager of Springfield Lodge in West Rainton was proud to present our shield to a pupil of West Rainton Primary School.

Will Kitson was awarded for his outstanding contribution to visiting residents and also being a leading factor to the local community events.

This also gave us an opportunity to thank head teacher, Mrs McDonough, the teachers and all the pupils for their ongoing support to Springfield Lodge over this last year. The interaction and communication between both generations is truly inspiring.
