World Mental Health Day

Mental health can impact all people, from all walks of life at some point in their life. That’s why it’s important to educate each other on mental health awareness and support worthy causes that aim to promote this.

We are dedicated to supporting all aspects of mental health within the care industry. We have many residents who suffer from Alzheimer’s and this can consequently cause depression. Our team of dedicated care staff are highly trained in how to support our residents experiencing such feelings.

Last year, Ascot Care sponsored a North East community interested company called Noggin Sport. They produce and supply a clothing range where all profits are donated to help raise awareness in mental health, in this case they are helping sportsmen and women who have to deal with high pressure sporting events. Ascot Care have helped by donating and buying beanie hats for the Durham University Rugby Club.

In continuation of our support, this year saw our care home Springfield Lodge, sponsor Durham University’s rugby player’s warm up shirts to further build on our relationships with the local community.

In the future we are also looking at working with the women’s team to visit Springfield Lodge to further cement a community link between Durham University and Ascot Care.
