About Langley House Care Home
Nestled in the Horden area of Peterlee in County Durham, Langley House ioffers the perfect balance of quiet living within a vibrant community.
Our beautiful landscaped gardens have plenty of space for Residents to entertain visitors outdoors, our lounges and dinning room provide an ideal setting for spending time socialising, and Residents can always get some valuable quiet time in the comfort of their own well-appointed room.
The home is on a main bus route and in close proximity to shops, the train station and the seafront, ensuring plentiful chances to embark on outings.
Whether it’s enjoying a stroll through the garden, or playing bingo in the lounge, Langley House feels like family.

Resident rooms
Our rooms are bright and spacious and come with modern furniture as a standard, however Residents are welcome to bring their own furniture if preferred.
Residents have a choice of views, of either our peaceful garden, or the hustle and bustle of the main street outside, from the comfort of their own room.
Common areas
Residents can enjoy the company of others in our spacious dining room, two lounges and landscaped gardens. Langley House is a fully wheelchair accesible home.
Activities
Our Activity Coordinator prepares a monthly schedule of events for Residents, which may include:
Adapted exercising classes
Arts and crafts
Board and chance games
Manicures
Singing and dancing
Fairs and fetes
Visits from local schools, volunteering groups and entertainers
Days out (which are subsidised by our Residents’ Fund but may incur a small charge)
Food and drink
Meals are prepared in-house by our catering team, who can accommodate a range of dietary needs and preferences, including diabetic, modified meals and, vegetarian.
Our 4-week rolling menu has been approved by Focus Under Nutrition and our adapted menus are based on feedback from menu tasting sessions carried out with Residents
Visitors
Relatives are welcome at anytime, altough we kindly ask that you aim to visit outside of protected meal times, unless they are sharing a meal with the Resident they are visiting.
Visitors who wish to share a meal with a Resident can request this with 48hrs notice.
We are a pet friendly home and welcome well trained pet visitors with a little advanced notice.

Joeanne Campbell
REGISTERED HOME MANAGER
Joeanne has been working in the care sector since age 18, having completed a health and social care course during sixth form and a 6-week placement in a care home, which solidified her desire to pursue a career in care.
She holds a GNVQ in Health and Social Care, and NVQ levels 2, 3, 4, and 5.
Joeanne joined Ascot Care in 2007 as a Senior Carer, progressing to Deputy Manager in 2009, before becoming Home Manager at Langley House in 2022.
Under her leadership, Langley House became the first North East home accredited as a Veteran Friendly Care Home.

Kirsty Atkinson
DEPUTY MANAGER
Kirsty started working in Langley House in 2010 as a Kitchen Assistant, where interactions with the Residents sparked her passion for care work and led her to pursue NVQ levels 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care, as well as Team Leading.
Kirsty joined Ascot Care as a Senior Carer when Langley House was acquired by the group in in 2021, and was appointed Deputy Manager in 2023.
She was involved in achieving Langley House's accreditation as a Veteran Friendly Care Home, an accomplishment that holds personal significance for Kirsty, as she has family in the service.

Driving from the South:
From the A1(M), take the A168 exit towards A19/Thirsk/Teeside and continue on A168/A19 for 46.3 miles
Driving from the North and South:
From the A19, take the B1320 exit towards Peterlee/Horden.
At the Peterlee roundabout, take the exit onto Burnhope Way/B1320 and continue for 0.6 miles, then take the 1st exit at the next roundabout to stay on Burnhope Way/B1320 for 0.3 miles.
At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Surtees Road/B1320 and continue for 0.3 miles.
At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Yoden Way/B1320 and continue for 0.7 miles.
Turn left onto Coast Road/A1086 and continue right as it becomes Sunderland Road.
Langley House will be on your left. The car park can be accessed from the first left turn.
By Train:
Langley House Care Home is approximately a 15-minute walk from the Horden Railway station.
By Bus:
Buses UTCC (Hartlepool – Easington Lane), X62 (Peterlee – Durham) and 208 (Peterlee – Easington Village) stop outside Our Lady of the Sea Roman Catholic Church (Stop ID: duraptgw), and at Horden Hotel (Stop ID: duraptjg), both of which are a one-minute walk from the entrance of Langley House.
