West Rainton Remember our Heroe's "There but not There Project"

 

 Remembrance Day is very close to all in the village of west Rainton. Springfield lodge are honoured to taking part in “the there but not there project “which is taking place throughout the whole of the community, silhouettes have been created representing local men who lost their lives during the wars. We also have the honour of having in our home the actual silhouette of Private Matthew Bowman, he was killed in France on 11.8.1915 at only 30years old. Matthew left a wife and three children. He was awarded the 1915 star, the victory medal and the British medal for his courage and duty
