Castleview care home statement

You may be aware that the number of COVID-19 cases in Northumberland and across the North East has been increasing over recent weeks.  In the last week (up to 4 September) there have been 61 new cases of COVID 19 in the county; this compares to 26 for the previous week and 52 for the fortnight prior.

Visits from healthcare professionals should continue to our care home, particularly as the flu vaccination programme will be starting soon and it is even more important this year that we ensure that residents are protected against flu. However, it is essential that such visitors adhere strictly to PPE guidance.

Family visits for residents should be restricted to those on an end-of-life pathway. We will continue to accept transfers and discharges from hospital in line with national guidance available.

We appreciate your support during these challenging times.
