Westoe Grange care home statement

Due to the recent increase in cases of Coronavirus within South Tyneside and the need to ensure appropriate measures are taken to reduce further transmission within the community ,South Tyneside Council have taken the difficult decision to suspend visiting to care homes with immediate effect. This also includes outdoor/garden visits.

The decision to suspend visiting is to prevent the reintroduction of the virus into our care homes to protect both staff and residents.  This decision remains under review and will keep you all updated, as and when the position changes.

We understand this may be difficult for residents and families but we appreciate your support at this time, and the collective efforts to protect our homes, residents and staff.
