Liz Coxford, Carer at Castleview care home in Alnwick, celebrating 25 years with Ascot Care

On 1 October 2026, Elizabeth (Liz) Coxford reached 25 years with Ascot Care. She joined Castleview, our residential, nursing and dementia care home in Alnwick, in October 2001, and she's been part of the team ever since.

Over the years, Liz has worked as both a Team Leader and a Carer. As a Team Leader, she supported her colleagues and kept shifts running smoothly. Now, as a Carer, she brings all that experience to the people she looks after every day.

A quarter of a century in care is a real achievement. We're grateful Liz has chosen to spend so much of her career with us, and proud that Castleview has been a place where she's felt at home.

Why long service matters in care

When families choose a care home, they look at the rooms, the food and the inspection report. But what most families really want to know is whether the staff will get to know the person they love.

That's where Liz makes the difference. She's been at Castleview for a long time and knows our residents, their routines and their families. Residents feel more settled with her familiar face around them, and newer colleagues have someone experienced to learn from.

Congratulations and thank you!

Michelle Lovelace, Head of Operations at Ascot Care, said: "Congratulations, Liz. Twenty-five years at Castleview is something special, and it means a lot to the residents, families and colleagues who rely on you. Thank you for everything you've given to the home. We're very lucky to have you."

Thank you, Liz, from everyone at Ascot Care. Your kindness, hard work and loyalty over the years have made Castleview a better place.
