Ascot Care sponsors evening with Michael Young and Alan Shearer
Newcastle’s sporting heroes Alan Shearer and Michael Young joined forces for a spectacular evening at Wylam Brewery, as Ascot Care proudly supported the event as one of its headline sponsors.
Held on Thursday 6th November, ‘9 and Dine’ brought together two of the North East’s most iconic number 9s for an exclusive night of conversation, entertainment, and fundraising in aid of the Alan Shearer Foundation and My Name’5 Doddie.
Guests were treated to a delicious dinner before hearing Shearer and Young share personal insights from their remarkable sporting careers. Together, they reflected on unforgettable moments on the pitch, the highs and lows of professional sport, and life beyond the game. Their candid and light-hearted discussion struck the perfect balance between humour and inspiration, giving the audience a rare glimpse behind the scenes of their sports, as well as their own unique relationship.
The event formed part of Michael Young’s Testimonial Year, celebrating his long-standing contribution to rugby and his commitment to using sport as a force for good. The evening featured live music, games, raffles, and both live and silent auctions, with proceeds supporting the Alan Shearer Foundation, which helps people with complex disabilities, and My Name’5 Doddie, which funds vital research and care for those affected by motor neurone disease.
Adding to the magic of the evening, Michael got engaged during the event, giving us the perfect finale to an already unforgettable night!
As sponsors, Ascot Care was honoured to be part of such an inspiring occasion that celebrated sport, community, and that was so full of love, perfectly reflecting the values that lie at the heart of everything we do.
